There has been a few times over the past 2 years when my back has needed some relief. Monacella massage has been amazing in providing that relief vs going to a chiropractor. I would recommend it as it is very convenient scheduling online and seeing which therapist is available. The space is downtown so for everyone that works downtown it is easily accessible vs having to travel far!

My husband Alan and I thoroughly enjoyed our couples massage! It was a great start to the weekend. I have to say, my massage was one of the most unique massages that I have every had. I loved it. I am an avid runner/athlete and experience soreness in my lower back and other areas from time to time. The young man (I can't remember his name) gave me an incredible massage that I felt was truly therapeutic and geared toward active individuals. I have never had one like it before and will definitely be back for more as I train for my spring marathon! My husband also loved his massage and felt it was money well spent. Beautiful room and atmosphere and convenient to our downtown offices.

Our couples massage was not like others we have had. Both massages were individualized instead of synchros with each other. My husband and I opted to do a couples massage. It was customizable for each of us. He likes deep tissue & I chose the hot/ cold stones. The therapists were very understanding and accommodating. They adjusted to our needs based on our feedback. My husband was amazed at how effective it was. I enjoyed the chance to unplug and relax! I so appreciate the time and care that was given to us during our visit!!

My friend and I visited Monacella massage for the first time Saturday. Not only are the massage therapists very welcoming and warm upon arrival, but they gave us a discount for having to walk up the stairs (the elevator was down temporarily). The massage itself was heavenly and much needed after wedding planning for a year! Missy has such a calming demeanor and makes you feel like you can totally relax. The essential oil lotion blend she used was amazing and added that final soothing touch. My friend and I both agreed that we left feeling like we were walking on clouds ! My best friend and I enjoyed a couples massage and they fit us in the same day we called. I am so glad we did not go to some chain in the mall store. There are not enough stars that express my joy and satisfaction from the experience. The price was very affordable! Carl was my therapist and was incredible! He and his partner were attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor! The therapy room was tranquil, with low lighting, peaceful music, and a heated table!

What a difference!
In December I injured a quad muscle and saw my doctor and started physical therapy. The PT helped but the muscle cramps were still there. Welcome Abby, who worked on my leg and tendons. In the short span of 3 weeks, she did more to bring me back then a month of PT. Her knowledge of how the muscles and tendons work, the way she devised a step by step process to help the healing is a good indication of their dedication and professionalism. I highly recommend this service for anyone who has any type of muscle issue. PS: my Mom, age 97 had her first ever massage there and that is all she has talked about for days. GO, you won't be sorry.

I had scheduled a 30-minute appointment with Pam for the Dancin' Feet service, but upon arriving and having some discussion, she was kind enough to stay an extra 30 minutes so I could have the full hour massage. My feet and legs felt so good I didn't want to move for a few days! This service was worth EVERY PENNY. Pam listened and was thorough with taking care of my needs. Can't wait to come back!

I have had 5 sessions with Pam for Lymphatic Drainage Massages. I have been very concerned about the edema in my arm, and could not find anyone near me that was trained in this type of massage. I am so glad that I found you! Pam is knowledgable and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. I have seen improvement in the edema, my surgeon says that my left arm is comparable to my right. It is so worth the 50 minute drive once a week or every other week!

Bizarre but it WORKS!
I am an aging fitness instructor who is experiencing some swelling in my knee. Missy did Thai reflex massage/stretching on my feet and it gives me relief and the swelling goes down. I don't understand why it works for me but it does. This is the second time we tried it and second time it has worked.

My friend and I went to Monacella Massage to get some relaxation. She has hip issues and I have back issues. Our therapists recommended focusing on those areas instead of a full body massage. They really know what they're doing! They used very firm pressure and I could feel my tight muscles releasing. I was a little sore afterwards, but the overall results are great and I have more motion in my neck and less back pain after just one massage! My friend also experienced relief in her hips and legs. We added a 15 minute reflexology session to our massage which was so relaxing (if you like having your feet rubbed, which I do!). Also, I asked how often I should have a massage to relieve my back pain and she said each person is different and to come back when I feel I need to. She could have just told me to come regularly once or twice a month so I appreciate her honesty. Come here if you need a clinical massage or just want to relax! I highly recommend Julie and Pam!

I have been experiencing hip pain due to bursitis and associated muscle & tendon pain in my leg for quite some time. Pam was able to relieve so much tension that I didn’t even realize I had! I have experienced much less pain and tightness in my leg since my visit; more so than the heat and stretching exercises from my PT provided.
I didn’t even realize the tension I had in my shoulders and back until Pam was working on me. Pam was also able to alleviate the sinus headache I had that day! Honestly, Pam made me feel 100 times better than when I walked in the door! Thanks for being fantastic as always!!
30 Minute Massage
For a long time, I've had back and neck issues. As of late, my muscles have exceeded the usual amount of discomfort and reached new levels of aching, numbness, and swelling. I was uncomfortable with the thought of a stranger touching me, especially while I was only partially clothed. However, Missy was recommended to me on several occasions and I got to the point where I realized that if I didn't do something soon, this would lead to bigger problems. I called, scheduled an appointment, and arrived to a very relaxing and comfortable environment. Not for a single moment did I feel uneasy. The work she did on my back and shoulders didn't hurt or cause me to swell at all and I left feeling better than I've felt in years. I now see that this can help my overall health, posture, and attitude. I will definitely be going back on a steady schedule as I believe the benefits will only increase over time.

It is seldom if ever that I write reviews but I have to let others know that I was able to get an appointment the very next day via the online scheduling feature! Having stressed my back muscles over the weekend, I was hoping to find an opening on the first day of the work week. I booked the appointment and was given a confirmation email within minutes. Within the confirmation email, I was able to print out the health screening information which I provided to Jess as soon as I arrived. Jess took her time to identify the reason for the massage techniques and then described different methods as if I had options to what would be delivered! I hadn't ever been to a massage therapist where I had options!!! The outdoor temps were in the single digits or lower and the massage room was a little cooler than I had hoped for but all for not as the table was heated and provided instant comfort. Jess was tremendous with her explanation of the techniques while explaining the rationale for using these....The experience was way better than I had hoped for and received much relief to the muscles in my back than I expected. I will definitely being returning to Moncella's and requesting Jess again!

I just recently had a hot stone massage. First time for that and I loved it! Missy was wonderful and made me feel very comfortable. I scheduled my appointment with Missy because I was having somewhat severe shoulder pain. I was impressed by her background/education. After having my massage, I am happy to say she did not disappoint. She was able to talk to me about a number of repetitive motion tasks that cause issues for me and discussed ways to prevent future discomfort. I think her education in kinesiology (the study of human movement) gives her a strong edge over other massage therapists in the area.

This was my first ever professional massage, so I was a little nervous! When I got there, Missy was waiting for me. The room was decorated with soft lighting and relaxing pictures and decor. I filled out a sheet with my medical information and then Missy stepped out so I could get ready on the table. The table was warm and comfy. I got neck and back massage with some aromatherapy - I chose vanilla as the scent. The massage was really relaxing and the vanilla smelled so good! She also did some things where she would just put her hands somewhere for like 10 seconds, which I've never experienced - it really helped to just put me in a nice place mentally. The whole thing was just such a relaxing experience, I was sad when it ended! The rest of the day I felt at peace with the world around me. I will definitely go back there again.

Missy is a wonderful massage therapist. My girlfriend and I each saw Missy recently for appointments -- my first since relocating from CA. My girlfriend got a deep tissue massage and I went with reflexology. We were both exceedingly pleased with the results. Missy is easy-going, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable about her work. I've had a few massages in the past at day spas, etc. where it was clear that the therapist didn't really know what they were doing. Not the case with Missy. Perfect balance of skill, relief, atmosphere & conversation
Missy is a genius. Based on discussion of my shoulder and neck pain, she was able to hone in on the source of my decreased range of motion with effective, relieving results. A 30 minute session was great but I think 60 minutes may be the best bet. Her office is very welcoming, comfortable and well-warmed, and she's willing and able to hold casual conversation based on the client, or not at all if that's preferred. For curious-minded folk like me, Missy was open to answering any questions about "what makes *that* spot hurt?" etc., and shared insight about how to help keep things from getting *that bad* again. Oh, and she's very reachable -- via text messaging, calling or online scheduling -- and flexible/receptive to the client's needs. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

Increased range of motion
Was in a car accident last year and fractured my neck. After being fully healed and completing physical therapy I still had limited side-to-side movement. One never realizes how much that is missed (what an understatement!). My chiropractor recommended Missy and she has greatly increased the movement. Very happy and satisfied!

Best Massage Therapist In Town
I have searched for a regular massage Therapist in the area for a long time. I went to Missy and had to look no further, Missy is not only knowledgeable but kind and gentle. She has helped me with my TMJ and other joint issues. I always look forward to my appointments! I highly recommend her!

Helps augment Physical Therapy
I am receiving PT for tight IT bands and other issues and having a massage with Missy helped increase the healing from the PT. Missy is extremely knowledgeable about body issues/injury and tailors the massage accordingly.

Missy was able to accommodate me at the last minute, which I appreciated. Her place of business is conveniently located with validated garage parking. Her therapy room was clean, relaxing, and quiet. Her massage technique is so effective at getting out my knots. I felt much better after she worked on my back, and I will definitely make an appointment with her again.

why didn't I schedule an hour?!
Pre-vacation massage. I was wrapping up work. Getting my ducks in a row. Anticipating 2 weeks with extended family after 20hr. car ride. When did I schedule my massage? 2 days before I left. For how long? 30 minutes! Missy said, "boy, you are not loosening up like you usually do". Note to self: Pre-vacation massages are going to be 60 minutes or more from here on out!!!

Don't wait any longer!
I spent too many years thinking that a massage was just a luxury to indulge in. Thankfully, with age, really does come wisdom and now I make regular appointments with Missy in conjunction with my chiropractor visits to manage upper back pain from my work at a desk and the tension that builds up from day to day. With the combination of both chiropractic work and massage therapy I no longer have the pain between my shoulder blades that used to make me a cranky girl. Ahhhh...sweet relief!

i took a day off of running for a 1hr massage. its like a mini vacation for yourself. i felt awesome all day and slept great. Today i ran great felt i could go much further than ever before. it really helps releave tension, improves circulation, and is great body recovery.

Very professional therapist. My shoulders and neck were as hard as a rock from stress and strain. Missy massaged me for about an hour. I felt immediate relief. I am writing this two days later and my neck and shoulders are less stiff. I have much more mobility. I actually slept through the entire night-something I seldom do! This was probably the best massage I have ever had. Very clean, relaxing room. Would recommend her to all.

My experience
I recently had my first professional massage at Monacella.
The atmosphere was very nice. It was clean and quiet with soothing music at a low volume. Missy worked hard to get the muscles in my back and shoulders to relax and go back in place. When I went home I slept for two hours and felt better than I had in a long time. I will return to Monacella when I can.

I have been seeing Missy for a long time in conjunction with my chiropractor for pain management between my shoulder blades. Since I stay on a regular schedule with her, I no longer suffer from the tension and tightness that builds up in the area like I used to. So glad I got smart and quit thinking that massages were just luxuries and indulgences.

Stress Relief!
I had heard from a number of close friends, colleagues that Missy Monacella was the best masseuse in town, but it wasn't until my Chiropractor recommended her that I scheduled my appointment. They were all right! She did an amazing job and would recommend her to anyone!

I have never received a massage before. However, after my half hour session with Monacella Massage, I would highly recommend it. I had continued tightness and pain in my neck until I received my massage and now I am pain free. Thanks Missy next time it will be an hour.
